Alcohol Believed to be Factor in Hillsdale Co. Crash Involving Adrian Resident

Litchfield Twp., Hillsdale County – A 49-year-old Adrian resident was involved in a two car personal injury crash in Hillsdale County, where alcohol is believed to be a factor.

The Michigan State Police responded to the crash Tuesday at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Litchfield Rd. and Rainey Rd. A SUV driven by a 46-year-old from Potterville was traveling eastbound on Litchfield Rd. and attempted to turn northbound on Rainey Rd when it struck a truck head on traveling westbound, according to the MSP. The westbound vehicle was driven by the 49-year-old from Adrian.

The at-fault driver was transported to Hillsdale Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The occupant from the truck was transported to Henry Ford Hospital for treatment non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor. The crash remains under investigation. The Michigan State Police were assisted on scene by the Litchfield City Police, Reading Emergency Unit, Litchfield Fire Department, and Jonesville Fire Department.
