Summerfield Twp., MI – An 18-year-old Ohio resident drowned at the KOA Campground in Summerfield Township. Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough reports that the drowning occurred just before 6pm Wednesday evening.
Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene, while people at the location continued efforts to locate the victim. They were recovered from the water shortly after 6pm by citizens and staff from the campground.
Summerfield Township Fire Department and Monroe County Ambulance attempted lifesaving measures, however the Pickerington, Ohio victim was pronounced deceased. The case remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office of the Uniformed Services Division.
