Hudson, MI – Severe Thunderstorm warnings were issued Sunday night by the National Weather Service as damaging winds and heavy rain swept through the WLEN listening area.
Posts on social media by area residents indicated that they, or someone they knew in the area, saw a tornado near the City of Hudson.
Lenawee County’s Emergency Management Coordinator, Craig Tanis, told WLEN News in an email Monday morning that, “There was not a tornado near Hudson last night. Just high, straight-line winds of 60-70 mph. I confirmed this with the NWS.” The NWS Tanis referred to is the National Weather Service.
The winds and rain Sunday knocked out power for hundreds of Lenawee County residents, with the majority of them restored by early Monday.
