ADRIAN — The Adrian City Commission recognized the restoration of Clark Memorial Hall during Monday night’s meeting, honoring the downtown preservation project with a proclamation.
Commissioners noted the building, also known as the I.O.O.F Hall, in downtown Adrian, underwent a roughly five-year exterior restoration project led through private investment.
Owner Brad Maggard said the project to restore the South Winter Street property was inspired by historic preservation efforts in Coldwater and included major exterior repairs and historically accurate restoration work.
The project reportedly cost around $612,557 and recently received recognition from the Michigan Historic Preservation Network.
Commissioners praised the work as an example of downtown preservation and reinvestment in Adrian.
