ADRIAN — The Adrian City Commission has approved the city’s Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget following a public hearing Monday night.

The spending plan passed after discussion over the proposed elimination of the Director of Parks position.

Commissioners raised concerns that removing the role could affect customer service, park oversight, and response to vandalism or maintenance issues. Supporters of the budget said the city must balance priorities while continuing core services.

No public comments were made during the budget hearing itself. The approved budget now sets spending levels and operations for the coming fiscal year.

Adrian’s new budget takes effect July 1.
