ADRIAN — The Lenawee Historical Society says renovations at its museum and archive facilities are nearing completion, with only a handful of final upgrades still underway.
According to the society’s May update, crews are addressing lighting improvements, replacing an outdated smoke detector system, and preparing landscaping for the summer season.
Officials say new task lighting is being added near archive map cabinets to help patrons view historic maps without moving them, reducing wear on fragile materials.
The Historical Society also says its aging smoke alarm system had become prone to false alarms and no longer met modern standards. Students from the LISD Tech Center horticulture program are expected to assist with seasonal landscaping work next week.
