LENAWEE CO. — Lenawee County residents are being reminded to properly dispose of household hazardous waste during spring cleanup season.
Items like paint, cleaners, batteries, oils and pesticides can pose risks to people, pets and the environment if thrown away improperly.
The county will host a free Household Hazardous Waste Collection event Saturday, May 9, from 8 a.m. until noon at Wacker Chemical on Sutton Road in Adrian.
A scrap tire and Styrofoam recycling event is also planned for Saturday, May 16, at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds.
