LENAWEE CO. — Nationwide recall expands to nearly 37 million pounds of frozen rice, ramen, and dumpling products over possible glass contamination.

Federal food safety officials say Ajinomoto Foods North America is expanding a nationwide recall involving nearly 37 million pounds of frozen chicken and pork fried rice, ramen, and shu mai products.

The USDA says the items may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically glass believed linked to carrots used in production.

Brands include Ajinomoto, Kroger, Ling Ling, Tai Pei, and Trader Joe’s. Products were shipped to retailers nationwide. No confirmed injuries have been reported.

Consumers are urged not to eat the products and should throw them away or return them to stores.
