Raisin Charter Township Supervisor to Continue Serving on MTA Board of Directors

Raisin Twp., MI – Raisin Charter Township Supervisor, Tom Hawkins, will continue to serve the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) on its Board of Directors, following his election as director of MTA District 24.

The district encompasses Hillsdale, Jackson and Lenawee Counties. Hawkins was first appointed to serve on the MTA Board in 2020.

He previously served two terms as township trustee, and was elected supervisor in 2020. Hawkins is a pastor at New Song Community Church and served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. He is a 2016 graduate of MTA’s Township Governance Academy, a credentialing program that aims to allow township officials to bring heightened leadership and guidance to their community.

Hawkins said, “My role on the MTA Board helps to increase my knowledge of township governance, and also allow me to help encourage education and legislation that benefits townships.”

Hawkins is president of Living Water Mission, a 501c3 organization that drills water wells in Kenya. He is also a board member for the Kiwanis Club of Tecumseh.
