Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Health Department has announced that, starting this month, the Environmental Health staff will begin collecting water samples from two public beaches in Lenawee County. Weekly samples will be collected from the public beaches at Hayes State Park and the Lake Hudson Recreation Area.

Given the popularity of these two beaches as recreational spots within the county, providing regular updates on water quality remains important, says the LCHD. These updates allow the public to make informed decisions for themselves and their families regarding swimming activities.

Health advisories will be issued if testing shows that bacteria levels are higher than the state safety standard. Signage will be displayed at the beach, and advisory information will be posted on the Lenawee County Health Department website.
