Frenchtown Twp., MI – A 33-year-old Wakeman, Ohio resident pled no contest in Monroe Circuit Court to Second Degree Homicide in relation to the 2023 death of Kayla Sedoskey. Kaylyn Ramsey was scheduled to stand trial in mid-May, but she chose to enter a no contest plea instead.

The Michigan State Police conducted an extensive year-long investigation into Sedoskey’s death and subsequently arrested six suspects: Steven Bails, Brin Smith, Kaylyn Ramsey, Narena Bails, Sierra Bemis, and Alexander Feko. All either were found guilty of crimes associated with the murder by a jury, entered no contest, or guilty pleas.

Sedoskey’s body was found in the abandoned Boysville Facility in Frenchtown Township on March 2nd, 2023. The investigation revealed that Sedoskey was the ex-girlfriend of Steven Bails. The evidence showed that the suspects conspired to kill Sedoskey over multiple disagreements that they had with her, and they devised a plan to have Brin Smith pretend to show interest in dating her.

Smith utilized Facebook to ‘catfish’ her and to schedule a date. On February 15th, 2023, Smith picked Sedoskey up for their planned date and drove her to the abandoned Boysville facility, where she was shot three times with a suspected .22 caliber handgun.

If anyone has any further information relating to Kayla Sedoskey’s death, contact the Michigan State Police.
