Adrian, MI – A company contracted by Blissfield to do work at the Wastewater Treatment Plant has filed a lawsuit against the Village in the Lenawee County Circuit Courtroom of Judge Anna Marie Anzalone. LaSalle, the company that filed the complaint, was contracted in 2020 to provide improvements to Blissfield’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.

In summary, the complaint says that due to materials shortages LaSalle claims that they could not perform the contract in the allotted timeline for completion at the agreed-upon cost. They want Blissfield to compensate them for loss of productivity to due directed out-of-sequence work, delay costs, and costs of working in unforeseen winter conditions.

They say that the Village would not allow them to immobilize while they were waiting for materials…and required them to work 112 days during unfavorable winter conditions. To be transparent with the community, a complete copy of the complaint is available to read on the Village of Blissfield website. They have no comment regarding the case at this time.

The complaint did not list a specific amount that LaSalle is seeking from the Village.
