Teen Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash West of Toledo

Toledo, MI – The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on December 21st at approximately 10:08 p.m. on N Crissey Rd in Spencer Twp.

The preliminary investigation showed a silver Lincoln MKS, operated by a 17-year-old from Maumee, Ohio, was north on N Crissey Rd when the driver failed to stop at a stop sign and negotiate a curve. The vehicle lost control and drove off the north side of the roadway where it struck a tree and came to a stop against a second tree. The driver was transported to University of Toledo Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

The right front passenger, a 17-year-old from Rossford, Ohio, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The right rear passenger, a 16-year-old from Maumee, Ohio, was taken to Toledo Hospital for serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation at this time. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Lucas County Coroner’s Office, Lucas County Life Squad and Springfield Township Fire and EMS.
