Onsted, MI – A boil water advisory has been issued for the Onsted Village residents. According to the Village of Onsted, a pressure drop occurred due to Onsted Schools performing fire suppression testing without notifying the water department. During the fire suppression testing and maintenance activities at the water plant, caused a loss of pressure on Thursday.
The Village of Onsted has restored pressure, and the water staff will be taking other remedial actions such a flushing and collecting bacteriological samples from around the system.
The boil water notice will remain in effect until results from the sampling verify the water is safe to drink. Onsted Village customers will be advised when the advisory has been lifted.
