
Ida, MI – The 41st Annual Christmas in Ida Festival opens its doors to the world with an exciting weekend festival featuring star studded concerts, craft and vendor shows, children’s activities and the largest parade of lights in the Midwest, the Christmas in Ida Parade of Lights.
The Christmas in Ida Festival began in 1982 sponsored by local area service organizations and businesses to share holiday cheer from small town America. Throughout the years, the festival and parade expanded into a weekend event that has become a Midwest destination attracting over 48,000 visitors to the weekend festival.
The Christmas in Ida Festival begins on Friday evening with a Commemorative Concert featuring the Detroit Opera Youth Chorus performing a holiday concert of Christmas, classical, and theater music.
Festival events include all day entertainment, high flying BMX show, four craft and vendor shows, outdoor agriculture exhibit, Santa’s Zoo, carriage rides, and ice sculpting.
The Holiday Hounds on Parade will feature over one hundred canines dressed in their Holiday finest in a parade all their own in the center of the downtown district.
Saturday evening festivities include a spectacular fireworks display, followed by the Granddaddy of all light parades featuring over 120 illuminated and animated parade entries that light up the entire village for nearly two hours.
