Lenawee County, MI – One common question WLEN News receives every year around this time is…when is the Holiday Train coming through Lenawee County?

While the 2023 schedule does not have a scheduled stop in Michigan, the train should be on its usual path, which includes the WLEN listening area.

The Canadian Pacific/Kansas City Southern Holiday train will be making stops in Ontario, Canada…but will not stop in ‘the mitten’ on its way to Chicago, Illinois.

CPKC is the combination of two historic railways – Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern.

The 2023 CPKC Holiday Train tours Canada and the United States November 20th through December 19th, raising money, food and awareness for the important work that food banks do in their communities.

Professional musicians play free concerts from the train’s stage. CPKC makes a donation to the local food shelf at each stop and encourages attendees to also donate.

Since its inception in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $22.5 million and more than 5 million pounds of food for community food banks across North America.

The train should be in the WLEN listening area the night of November 24th.
