Car vs Motorcycle Fatal Crash in Monroe County

Monroe County, MI –  The Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal car versus motorcycle crash in Monroe County late last week.

At approximately 7:35 pm Thursday, troopers from the Monroe Post were dispatched to North Monroe Street and Washington Boulevard for a car versus motorcycle crash.

From evidence at the scene, the following sequence of events was determined: A red Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on North Monroe Street when it was struck by a red Ford Escape.

The Ford Escape was making a left turn into the Cheers Party Shoppe from northbound North Monroe Street when it struck the motorcycle.

As a result, the driver of the motorcycle, a 52-year-old male from Monroe, was transported to ProMedica Monroe Hospital where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.  The driver of the Ford Escape, a 62-year-old male from Monroe, was not injured.
