Community Leader Ann Hinsdale-Knisel has Passed Away

Sand Creek, MI – A leader in the Lenawee County Community for decades, Ann Hinsdale-Knisel, recently passed away on Thursday at the age of 72.

Ann was born in Adrian, attended Sand Creek Community Schools, and graduated with the Class of 1968. She continued her education at Eastern Michigan University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master’s of Science degree.

After college, Ann went on to teach at Dundee High School from 1972 to 1976. She returned to Lenawee County where she was the Director of the MSU Extension Office from 1976 to 2003. Ann went to work for the Lenawee ISD as the Relations Coordinator from 2007-2017.

She was involved on many boards and community events, such as Civitan for Lenawee, Lenawee County Education Foundation, NAACP, Allen and Nadia Myers Foundation and Sand Creek Community Church. Ann was also a guest co-host for WLEN’s View Point program.

In 1980, Ann married William ‘Bill’ Knisel, and they celebrated 37 years together.

Visitation for Ann Hinsdale-Knisel will be held at the Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian on Thursday, June 15th from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will take place on the 16th at 11a.m.
