22 year old Adrian resident, Brendan Short, won over $10,000 in home improvements with the Brown and Sons’ Spring Spruce Up Contest on WLEN Radio. The contest kicked off in late April and had over 4,500 entries. People were able to enter on-air, on-line and at the live remote broadcast that launched the promotion.
Short stated he was working and listening to the radio when he heard his name. Short called within the allotted time of ten minutes and thirty-nine seconds to claim his winnings. Short let Joe Johns, on-air personality with WLEN Radio, know that he only entered one time online, but that it only takes one to win. The Adrian resident has been working on some home improvements and intends to use the prizes toward those projects.
The contest’s major sponsor was Brown and Sons Roofing and Siding from Adrian. Brown and Sons provided a roof replacement up to $5,000. Other sponsors and prizes included, $1,000 in flooring from Abbey Carpet and Floor, $1,000 toward products at Dynamic Industrial Supply, $1,000 in sealcoating from K & B Asphalt Sealcoating, Inc., $1,000 in paint and supplies from the Lenawee Paint Store and $1,000.00 in products and services from Zuvers Heating, Cooling and Mechanical.
