Tecumseh, MI – All the big-ticket items that were on the agenda for the Tecumseh City Council to consider Monday night passed.

Purchase and Development agreements for the Hayden-Ford Mill property on East Chicago Boulevard and a 20 acre parcel in the Tecumseh Business and Technology Park were approved by a count of six to one.

Also, the Tecumseh City Council approved a second reading and adoption of an industrial hemp ordinance amendment by a 7-0 margin.

WLEN News will unpack these items throughout the week, but today we will start with the 20 acre parcel of the Park, to be sold for 1 dollar, to the current owner of the former Tecumseh Products site.

Mayor Jack Baker told WLEN News about why he supported the agreement, citing lack of interest in the park in the past… and the ability for this acreage to bring in tax revenue for the city…

There is a timeline in place for development of the property. If the deadlines are not met, the City can take back ownership of the property.
