Tecumseh, MI – Tecumseh Public Schools released more information about an investigation into Athletic Director Jon Zajac for a non-criminal complaint.

The complaint was filed with the district on November 28th alleging he organized a basketball practice with his son and other Tecumseh High School students at an open gym in a local church.

Those players would then play in a tournament in Ohio on the 28th. Zajac was placed on paid non-disciplinary leave on November 30th.

An independent investigation, which concluded on December 23rd, found Zajac violated the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services order that was issued on November 15th.

That order suspended all school sports activities… where the only coach-player contact and activities for all sports was virtual communication.

On the advice of legal counsel, Tecumseh Public Schools sought a third-party firm to investigate the claims.

Zajac returned to normal duties on December 23rd. The findings from the investigation will be sent to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
