Lenawee County, MI – A firefighter from the Blissfield Township Fire Department was killed in a car crash late Tuesday afternoon. According to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies responded to an injury car crash on Garno Road, west of N. Sisson Hwy at approximately 4pm.
34 year old Joseph Todd Gallo was traveling eastbound on Garno responding to assist at a barn fire on Garno Road. While driving on the gravel portion of Garno, Gallo lost control of his vehicle… which rolled over several times. Gallo was transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries. He was the only person in the car according to the Sheriff’s Office was not wearing a seat belt.
The Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene and the crash is under further investigation. The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Adrian Township Police Department and the Deerfield Fire Department.
