Tim Ambrose

I graduated with a degree in Communications from Spring Arbor University, specializing in broadcasting, although back then it was all about splicing tape and laying coax cable.  Since that time, I have worked in sales, education, human services, ministry, television, and yes, radio.  This will mark the third time I’ve worked on a morning show. I’ve also hosted mid-day shows, afternoon drive, worked as a program director, and even a station manager.

I’ve been married to one beautiful woman for almost 25 years, I have 3 children (1 son and 2 daughters), and a cat who’s really old.  I retired this year from almost 20 years of coaching basketball, spending the last 12 years coaching varsity basketball at Freedom Christian School.  As a coach, I have been overwhelming adequate. I’m also heavily involved in community theatre.  I’ve been on stage a number of times, directed, done audio design, and even had a staged reading of a play I wrote.

Today when I’m not on air at WLEN, I serve as pastor of my childhood church in Hillsdale, MI.  I teach an Introduction to Mass Communication course Adrian College and run a number of podcasts out of the studios of Rad Raptor Comics.

I should also probably mention I’m a lifelong Chicago Bulls fan.  I believe Jordan is the GOAT, but my favorite player was Toni Kukoc.  I love movies starring Steve Martin, comic book movies, and 80’s action movies.  I’m a huge Trekkie;  Wrath of Kahn is my favorite Trek movie and  Enterprise is my favorite show.  I’ve watched through  MASH more times than I can count, and I think music peaked in the 1980’s.

I’m thrilled to be a part of things at WLEN and looking forward to spending every morning with you.
