
William Dean Faust (Bill), 92, Adrian, Michigan, passed away December 29, 2024 in Lakeland, Florida. He’s survived by beloved wife Beth, son, William, (Jody), daughters, Wendy (Claude), and Lori (James), several grand, great, and great-great-grandchildren, sister, Joyce Kopka, brother, Larry Faust (Diana). He is predeceased by parents, Leo and Fern, sisters, Sally Underwood and Patricia Tipping, son, Rodney, and son-in-law, Dewey Pike.
He was born on February 23, 1932, in Rome Township, Michigan. Bill served 8 years in the Navy as a Telecommunications Specialist and took part in the Cuban Missile Crisis Blockade. His tours of duty took him to Greece, Holland, Italy, Spain, and crossing over the Arctic Circle. He was assigned to the USS Midway (CVA-41, aircraft carrier), USS Soley (DD-707, destroyer), and the USS John King (DDG-3, guided missile armed destroyer). Bill worked at General Motors for over 30 years where he also served as a UAW Committeeman.
Bill’s hobbies included, bowling, playing cards, fishing, horseshoes, golf, photography, shuffleboard, making homemade cider and ice cream, and was quite the “billiard’s shark”. He loved God, dogs, oldies and country music, sharing his Navy adventures, and had a great sense of humor, being particularly fond of good jokes.
He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Winters were spent in Florida, summers and fall in Michigan where Bill and Beth enjoyed hosting cookouts, Halloween festivities, and family get-togethers. He especially loved spending time with his wife, Beth.
