Maria (Mary) L. Miller, 74 years old of Adrian, MI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26th, 2024, at Adrian Bay Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Mary was born on August 23, 1950, to the late Jose R. and Andrea (Gomez) Cuellar. On July 21, 1984, she married Eldon Miller and although no longer bonded by marriage they were forever bonded by friendship and love. Mary worked as a seamstress for many years until she retired due to health reasons. This allowed her to take care of her ailing parents and sister Rose. Mary devoted her life to ensuring her family was taken care of during their illnesses through the end of life. She was selfless and a true hero and angel in this world.
Mary was one of the most artistic people a person could meet. She would come up with the most unique ideas and bring it to fruition through her art, often creating horror themed ceramics, dolls and other comical compilations of pictures that would have her family in awe of her brilliant talents. Her sewing skills were expert, there was nothing she could not sew. She also had a green thumb, loved plants and gardening.
Mary will be forever missed by the ones she left behind. Her sister Graciela and her would talk every day, laugh and tell stories. Her brother Oscar and her were the best of friends. Laughter was always a part of all her interactions. Mary will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews who will never forget all the things she taught them. The most important thing was spending quality time with them, showing them how to do ceramics, sew and be creative. She loved all the kids in the family.
Mary leaves behind Eldon and her beloved dog Nacho, her brothers Oscar and John (Annie) Cuellar, sister Graciela Juarez, sister-in-law Olga Vargas, as well as many nieces and nephews, and close friend Ora (Dee). She was proceeded in death by both of her parents, sister Rose Czmer, brother Jose Jr. Cuellar, and infant brothers Jesse and Manuel Cuellar.
The family would like to thank the staff at Adrian Bay for taking such great care of Mary during her time there.
Mary did not wish to have a service but to honor her life the family will be planting a tree in the spring dedicated to her and the life that she devoted to others.
