On December 18, 2024, Donald A. (Doc) Forche was kind enough to let his best friend and family members be with him when he went to be in a much deserved peaceful and tranquil place.

Doc was born on March 21, 1944, to Edwin D. and June Rose (Wilson) Forche in Adrian, MI.  Doc graduated from Deerfield High School in 1962 and served our country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967.  Doc was a lifelong farmer and retired from General Motors Hydromatic in Toledo after 40 years.  At an early age Doc became a passionate mechanic never doing anything halfway, always a perfectionist, first into cars and drag racing and building race engines, then into four-wheel drive pickup pulling, then into his real passion of antique tractor pulling.  Always tweaking to get a little bit more and had to be painted to look like new.  In the middle of his passions, he found time to fight Parkinson’s disease for fifteen years, never letting it slow him down, to the contrary he pushed even harder, always on the cutting edge, always on the go.  Never lost his exuberant sense of humor.  Doc is survived by his brothers, John (Hedy), Dave (Lois), Ken (Willa), Dan (Cheryl), Keith (Laurie); best friend, Ron Cambal; cousin, Jim Forche.  Doc is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet (Alvin) Murry.

Visitation for Doc will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from Noon until 5:00 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel, in Blissfield, with a scripture service beginning at 5:00 p.m. with Father Jeffrey Poll as officiant.  Cremation will follow services, and he will be buried at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Doc’s memory to the Heritage Farmers Antique Tractor Club.
