Clyde Marion Dickerson, Jr., age 87 of Adrian, formerly of Onsted, died Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Hospice of Lenawee Home.

Born June 6, 1937, in Delta, Ohio, he was the son of Clyde and Winona (Rowland) Dickerson, Sr..
December 28, 1958, Clyde married Nancy Lee Pelham at her parents’ home in Onsted. During their marriage of almost 66 years, they raised two sons, Darren and Brian, welcomed three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

During the Vietnam War, Clyde proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957 – 1963 as a Communication Center Specialist. He started out with Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas and finished training at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He then was stationed in Enewetak Atoll in The Marshall Islands and finished his service in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Clyde was active in the Church of God as their song and youth leader, custodial engineer, occasionally filling in as a layman speaker, and a member of the church board until that church closed. He then became a faithful member of Adrian First Church of the Nazarene where he sang in the choir, served on the church board, and was instrumental in helping to build the current church building. Clyde had a love for anything with motors, starting with the first “motorcycle” he and his brother pitched in to buy, a Sears scooter; followed by three more real motorcycles, one boat, and 31 vehicles throughout his lifetime. Clyde enjoyed being outside; often puttering around the garden, performing maintenance on his current vehicles, or pulling his grandkids (when they were little) around the yard or down to the Loch Erin dam in his riding mower trailer. And his grandkids were his greatest joy, often spoiling them with ice cream, movies, and more ice cream. Regardless of what was going on in his life, he made every effort to be present in his children’s, grandchildren’s, and great-grandchildren’s lives.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by sons, Darren (Carol) Dickerson and Brian (Genia) Dickerson; grandchildren, Serena (Jeff) Riley, Kira Dickerson, and Kelson (Jami) Dickerson; great grandchildren, Parker, Preston & Paisley Riley, Venora Dickerson, Tidus and Lily Dickerson, and James Bellar; and brothers, Ronald (Janet) Dickerson and Alvindale (Sandra) Dickerson, plus many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #97, will take place at Adrian First Church of the Nazarene, Friday, December 20, 2024, beginning at 11 a.m., preceded by a viewing from 10 – 11 a.m. Clyde will be laid to rest at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian following the service. His family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Adrian First Church of the Nazarene or Hospice of Lenawee. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.WagleyFuneralHomes.com
