Roland Neil Holmes, age 86, of Hudson, passed away Sunday December 8, 2024, at his home. Roland was born September 12, 1938, in Hudson, Michigan to Melvin Clair and Mary Ellen (Crater) Holmes. Roland married Beverly Clark on August 6, 1967, in Belmont, Mass., and she preceded him in death in 2004
Roland was a graduate of Fayette High School and Jackson Business College. Roland worked as the purchasing agent for Metalloy foundry until his retirement in 1999. Roland was a very loyal Hudson Tiger and University of Michigan fan, and rarely missed a Hudson Tiger game and made sure to listen on the radio or call and get a play by play from someone at the game.
Roland is survived by two daughters; Judy (Jeff) Schutte of Hudson and Kim (Mike) Morris of Allen Park; grandchildren; Jill, Ellie, Audrey, and Nathan; two brothers; Melvin Holmes of Tampa Fl, Brian (Karen) Holmes of Oak Ridge, TN, Two sisters; Nancy VanValkenburg of Pinellas Park, Fl, Janet (Mike) Lamley of Scottsdale, AZ.
He is preceded in death by his wife Beverly, his parents, and son-in-law, Daniel Elkins.
Funeral services for Roland will be Friday December 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Jamie Driskill officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson. Visitation will be Thursday December 12, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
