On November 29th, 2024 Cody Garrett Westgate,33, died suddenly at home. Cody was born on December 8th.1990, and passed just 8 days before his 34th. birthday. He attended both St. Johns Lutheran and Madison Schools. Cody had an adventurous spirit and a passion for Moto cross. He was the happiest when he was straddling his bike. He enjoyed the great outdoors and took advantage of all Michigan has to offer. He loved being with his Nieces and nephew. He was extremely proud of them. Cody was very talented, having taught himself small engine repair, he worked for: Gallant and Son, International Brass Works as well as Castalloy. Cody took great pride in his work. He could fix anything. He had a huge heart and was always ready to lend a hand. Cody loved fiercely and will be greatly missed by all those who truly knew and loved him. Cody is survived by his parents, Chad & Mary Ann Westgate. Sister Sarah (Allen Schneider) Westgate. Brother, Dylan (Kaitlyn Elizardo) Westgate. Nieces, Amelia and Abigail Schneider, Everleigh, Ava and Wren Westgate. Nephew, Riker Westgate. Aunts and Uncles, George and Lynn Crossman, Michelle Nickelson and her husband Tim Burnham, Special cousin Tyler Crossman, whom Cody loved like a brother. as well as tons of family and family friends who love him. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Doug Westgate, Janet and Larry Miller, Athel (Bill) & Dortha (Fivecoat) Crossman, Uncle, James Crossman and infant cousin Micheala Nickelson. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Monetary donations are welcomed.
