Adrian, MI – The Neighbors of Hope board of directors has decided to shutter their Blessings and More Resale Store at the end of this year…and their recycling operation will close in early 2025.

Blessings & More has been the resale ministry of Neighbors of Hope since 2012. It specializes in selling high-value donated items in an upscale store setting, and at affordable prices.

The Board of Directors of Neighbors of Hope made these decisions at a recent strategic planning meeting, according to a news release from the organization.

Pastor Steven Palmer, Executive Director of Neighbors of Hope, said “We are truly grateful to everyone who supported this ministry, whether they donated or purchased items, participated in partnerships, volunteered, or whatever, we are humbled to have had the opportunity to provide our community this resource for the past twelve years. This has not been an easy decision by any means and Neighbors of Hope is working to offer other employment opportunities within the organization to the employees these closings impact.”

“For more than twelve years, Blessings & More has been an integral component in the organizational structure of Neighbors of Hope. And for much of the past four years, during and following the COVID-19 pandemic, this social enterprise has struggled and isn’t performing the way we need it to. Thus, I am proud to see that the board recognizes that if we are truly committed to re-opening a women and children’s ministry and filling this gap in our community, which is in alignment with our mission statement, then some steps in organizational restructuring are necessary. And reopening a women and children’s ministry will certainly not happen overnight, but this a first and hard step in the lengthy journey to meet that goal,” said Pastor Palmer.

Blessings & More will continue with its regular business hours now through Christmas. The Recycling and Donation Center will also continue with its current hours of operation and receive donated items.
