Ena Grace Beach, age 90, formerly of Adrian, MI, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility where she had resided for the last several years.
There was a lot of excitement in Berkey, Ohio on July 28, 1934; as Dorothy (Fekete) and Frank Soss, Sr. welcomed three babies into the world. Ena Grace joined the already growing Soss family and was embraced by her older brothers and sisters. Ena attended Ottawa Lake Schools while growing up.
Ena started working as a teenager and was employed at American Chain and Cable in Adrian. She worked on the assembly line and given her attention to detail, was involved with the machine apparatus inspection. Ena retired in 1987 after 34 ½ years of dedicated service with the company.
On May 25, 1979, Ena married George Beach in Adrian. They attended Christ Temple Ministries in Adrian and enjoyed gardening together. They made the most of their 14 years together before George died in 1993.
You could find Ena wherever there was a BINGO game going on, and she took each game seriously; she also tried her luck with scratch off lottery tickets. In the summertime, Ena would walk to the Lenawee County Fairgrounds and watch the shows going on and enjoy the entertainment.
Ena leaves behind her children, Colleen Bell (Tina Lindsey), Derrick Bell and Shawn Bell; grandchildren, Shanna (Ronny) Baughey, Chad Redman, Colton Redman, Tim Bell, Brian Bell, Jay Bell, Crystal Bell, Shawn Bell, Jr., Shianne Bell, Skye Bell, Victoria (Dopp), Frank Hock and Aaron (Dee) Hock; and many wonderful great grandchildren. Ena was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George; children, Timothy and Kathleen; siblings, Paul Soss, Tom Soss, Anna Kurutz, Frank Soss, Pete Soss, Elizabeth West and Margaret Cilley; son in law, Lynn Olmstead; and grandson, Justin Olmstead.
Funeral services for Ena will take place on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian; with visitation being held from 11:00 AM until the service begins. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Garden in Tecumseh.
Ena’s family would like to thank the staff at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility for the love and compassion they showed to Ena over the last eight years.
