Susan Ann Pelham Robinson was born at Cambridge Junction in Cambridge Township Michigan to her parents Mary (Glancy) Pelham and Loudell Pelham on July 13th 1944. She passed away on October 2nd 2024.

Sue was married to Charlie Robinson on October 26th 1963. She was proudly married to her beloved husband until his passing in May of 2012. Together they built a beautiful family.

On top of being a family business manager and an active homemaker Sue spent her free time giving back to her community. She was an active member for many years as a volunteer for the Red Cross, Onsted Festival Committee and Onsted Alumni Association. She was passionate about helping others and often made donations to charitable organizations -one of her favorites being Toys for Tots during Christmas. Her husband and sons love for Truck Pulls lead her to joining and serving in that community through the 70’s and 80’s.

She enjoyed puzzles, the crossword, NASCAR and popcorn on Sundays, shopping, decorating, hosting, natural sunlight to start her day (her husband joked that she ran on solar power), the color yellow, sunflowers and gardening, music, her TV programs, coffee and often a little something sweet.

Sue was love personified. A soft but strong force in any room she ever joined. Always leading life with her family in mind. Her caring heart was unlimited and you often found her helping those who needed it. Sue really shined and took the most pride in her home and caring for her family.

A wonderful hostess, Sue held many family holidays in her home with people filling every square inch of space. Children running and playing. Food covering every surface in the kitchen. Plenty of love and light and laughter always surrounding a very full table.

It would be remiss not to mention Sues love for Christmas. If you ever had the opportunity to enter her home during the holiday season you would find the warmest scene. A cozy home filled to the brim with decorations, lights, ornaments, her ever growing collection of Santa Claus statues, beautifully decorated trees and a sprawling Christmas village. Snacks were laid out and encouraged close to the holiday while you listened to the Christmas Classics – especially White Christmas.

As a mother Sue was always there for her children. They still speak of her homemade cookies and the consistent comforting home she kept, allowing them to fully enjoy being children. She was constantly putting effort into keeping her children comfortable and happy. As they grew, her home opened to cousins, children from the neighborhood and school friends. It wasn’t unusual to hear them call her “mom” as well. Her children are immensely proud of her.

She always said her favorite job of all was Grandma. She frequently told her granddaughters that being their Grandma was the best thing in the world – never leaving any doubt in their minds that they were loved and cherished exactly as they were. Her door was always open. Spending the night was always an option. Reading another story was expected. Her patience and willingness to listen without judgement made her the epitome of the word Grandma. Her granddaughters claim to be the luckiest girls in the world.

When she became a great grandma that love only grew. It brought so much joy to the final years of her life. Finding energy even on the hard days to read stories, sword fights, watch cartoons and explain how things work to a growing mind.

She was proud of her entire family no matter their failings or faults. She saw the good humans they were trying to be. The world would be a lot brighter if everyone had someone like Sue in their life. It was an honor to know and love her.

Sue is survived by her sons Eric (Candy) Robinson & Steve (Denise) Robinson as well as her daughter Stephanie Robinson. Her Granddaughters DeAnna (Austin) Robinson, Elaina (Caleb) Robinson and her great grandchildren MacGyver Groves and Ava Scott. Further Survived by her siblings Linda Pelham, Bud (Colleen) Pelham, Kris (Kathy) Pelham, Bill Pelham, Sister in Law – Carmen Pelham, Nancy (Clyde) Dickerson, Sister in Law – Nancy Kelley, Scott (Susie) Robinson.
