MSP: Speed and Alcohol Believed to be Factors in Multi-Vehicle Motorcycle Crash

Monroe County, MI – Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in a multi-vehicle motorcycle crash in Monroe County Saturday night. The Michigan State Police Monroe Post reports that the crash took place around 8pm in the area of Steffas and Heiss Roads between two motorcycles.

MSP says that three motorcycles were traveling northbound on Steffas Road when two of the motorcycles failed to negotiate the curve just north of Heiss Road, leaving the roadway before crashing into a ditch. The third motorcycle rider stopped and immediately began rendering aid.

A 43-year-old male from Carleton, and 34-year-old male from Southgate, were transported to an area hospital with injuries. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. If you have additional information on this crash, contact the Michigan State Police.
