In 1973, Steve married the love of his life, Sally, with whom he had been married for the past 50 plus years. During their union, they had two children, Tom and Stephanie.

Throughout his life, Steve was active in the Jaguar Club of North America, Boys Scouts of America as a Scout Leader, the Historical Society of Clinton, the Friends of the Clinton Township Public Library, and the Lenawee County Conservation League. Steve passionately devoted his time to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, where he advanced from Esquire to Exalted Ruler, and where he was proud to hold every chair in succession at Lodge #1945.

Steve is survived by his wife, Sally; children, Steven Shelby and Ali of TX, Tom and Dana of WA, and Stephanie and Rob Cole of MI; grandchildren, Madison, J.T., Kaitlyn, Gabby, and Jacob; sister, Lois Gantner of OH; and his best friend of 70 years, Norm (Nancy) Kilgour of MI.

A Celebration of Life, a testament to Steve’s impact on all of us, will be held at a later date. The family will share the details of this event soon.
