Parke J. Atkinson, age 67 of Clayton, died Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital. He was born September 12, 1956, in Hudson, to James D. and Viola E. (Parke) Atkinson. Parke graduated from Hudson High School with the class of 1974. On September 27, 1980, Parke married the love of his life Penny Berkshire in Rollin, MI.

Parke was employed as an iron worker in the commercial building industry. A person of many interests, Parke loved to fish and hunt, playing slow pitch softball and was an avid baseball fan. Known as the family uber, he enjoyed going to the grandkids’ sporting events. His memberships include Clayton Corner Coffee Club, Local 55 Ironworkers Union, Bass Club and Lenawee Pheasants Forever.

Surviving Parke, in addition to his wife Penny, are two daughters; Angie Hanawalt and Ashley (Matt) Wilson, two sisters; Diane Marvin and Cynthia Lambka and a brother, James (Mary Beth) Atkinson. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Chaise, Cadence, Reileigh, Reece and Ryder. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, George, a son-in-law, Ryan Hanawalt and a brother-in-law, James Marvin.

Funeral services for Parke will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian with Reverend Gary Miller officiating. Visitation hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 p.m.
