Richard “Dick” Gerard Monahan, age 66, of Tecumseh, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 28, 1957, in Hudson, Michigan to the late Phillip and Betty Jean (Irwin) Monahan. On July 6, 1979, Dick married the love of his life, Angela LoPresto, on the Monahan family farm. They raised a family of two children and celebrated over 45 wonderful years together.
Dick made his career as a Tool and Die Foreman at the Milan Federal Prison. He attended St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh and was a member of the Moose since 1983. In his free time, Dick enjoyed racing and riding his motorcycle.
To cherish his memory, Dick leaves his loving wife, Angela; two children, Richard Monahan II and Brandi (Eric) Steinbach; three grandchildren, Brendan Monahan, Jack Furgason, and Hannah Furgason; and two brothers, Don (Rhonda) Monahan and Tracey Monahan. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a brother, Dave Monahan.
Memorial visitation for Dick will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Eagle-Marry Funeral Home, Hudson from 11:00 am until the memorial service begins at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Hudson.
