Brooklyn, MI – The Kiwanis Club of Brooklyn is fundraising for improvements at Swain Park. Greg Schira with the Kiwanis Club of Brooklyn, Marty Trenkle Engineer for the project, and Matt Schwartzlander Brooklyn Village Manager were all on a recent Community Conversation to talk about the project.
The efforts at Swain Park will add some new items to the park, restore existing pieces, and replace aging and unsafe equipment. Trenkle says that this will be a community build…
Greg Schira, with the Kiwanis Club of Brooklyn, said that they have raised enough money to get the equipment, but need more to cover the entire cost of the renovation.
There is a crowdfunding effort underway now. They have applied for a $35,000 grant through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The community needs to raise $17,500 and the MEDC will match that amount if they can raise it by October 19th.
Donations can be made through the Kiwanis Club of Brooklyn Foundation.
