Karen L. Baughey, age 70 of Adrian, died Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Hospice of Lenawee Home with her husband at her side.
Born June 13, 1954, in Tecumseh, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Theta (Krabill) Sherman. She graduated from Sand Creek High School with the Class of 1972.
On July 4, 1987, she married Wendell Baughey, and he survives.
A hard worker, Karen held many different positions with various organizations in the area including Big Boy, Quick Print, Adrian Super Laundromat and Lenawee Medical Care Facility. She was a member of Adrian First Church of the Nazarene and a life member of the DAV Auxiliary.
In addition to Wendell, her husband of over 37 years, she is survived by her children, Bill Crawford and Ethan (Rachel) Baughey; grandchildren, Kai and Lauren Crawford, Caylee and Chase Cowen and James Baughey; and her siblings, Judy (Terry) Myers, Doug (Linda) Sherman and Roger (Debbie) Sherman.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Cowen.
The funeral service will take place at noon on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Wagley Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Betz officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Packard Cemetery.
