Steven Compton, age 68, of Adrian, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. He was born in Detroit, on October 27, 1955, to the late Virgil Raymond and Frances Josephine (Nowak) Compton. After high school, Steven furthered his education, attaining a Bachelor Degree in Art from both Wayne State University and the Art Institute of San Francisco. He worked for Charles Schwab as a computer technician until his retirement.
Steven was a very simple man and had many friends spanning the globe. He loved to read about religious history and volunteered at Blessing and More in Adrian. Steven also loved indoor gardening, taking care of many house plants.
Surviving Steven is his sister, Cynthia (Donald) Nicolai; and nephews, John (Ellen) Nicolai, Donald Kevin (Tina) Nicolai, and Joseph Allen (Theresa) Nicolai. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Timothy Goodman-Nicolai.
Visitation for Steven will be held at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM. Pastor Steve Palmer of Neighbors of Hope Ministries will officiate. Cremation will follow, with interment of remains at a later date in Palmyra Cemetery.
