
Armondo “Mondo” Perez, passed away from cancer on August 1, 2024 at the age of 48, in Hospice of Lenawee located in Adrian, Michigan.
Mondo Perez was born on March 28, 1976 in Adrian, Michigan, to Jesus Perez Jr. and Debbie Jean Perez. Growing up Mondo attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church and graduated from Adrian High School in 1994. Mondo went on to attend Siena Heights University as well as Ohio Business College. Mondo started his career in food services serving at Applebees and Fiesta Ranchera. Mondo worked at the Daily Telegram as writer and a delivery driver. The last few years Mondo pursued his passion for website design and was the proud business owner of Advantage Web & SEO.
Mondo was best known for always having a smile on his face and great sense of humor. Mondo also enjoyed fishing, video gaming, live streaming and being an active member of The Reserve Poker Club. He loved play slow pitch softball, while spending the summer and fall evenings at the ball park. He also spent many years as a DJ and had a passion for writing. Mondo enjoyed watching football, baseball and hockey games with family and friends, always supporting Michigan athletics.
Mondo was a beloved son, nephew, brother, cousin, uncle and friend. Armondo is survived by his father Jesus Perez Jr.; stepmother Kristine Perez; brothers Manuel Perez, Marcus (Bentley) Perez, Joshua (Kelsie) Perez and sister Marquita (Craig) Smith. Mondo’s joy was multiplied by his nieces and nephews; Selina, Nora, Ayla, Oaklynn, Gatlin, and Max who brought him immense happiness. Also surviving, grandmother, Antonia Perez, aunts and uncles, Kimo (Tino) Madrid, Mike Perez, Nate (Robin) Perez, David (Jodi) Perez, Bob (Tonya) Perez, Chris Perez, and many more family members and friends who he considered family.
Mondo is preceded in death by his Great Grandmother Mae Jones, Great Grandmother Isabel Perez, Great Grandfather Basilio Perez, Grandmother Louise Mariano Alvarado, Grandfather Jesus Perez Sr., Mother Debbie Jean Perez, Aunt Dee Dee Dotson, Aunt Pauline Ortiz, Uncle Victor Ortiz, Aunt Ina Willett, Uncle Keith Willett, Uncle Carl Jones, Aunt Gloria Rodela, Uncle John Rodela, Uncle Eddie Perez, Uncle Rudy Perez, Aunt Angie Alvarado.
A celebration of life for Mondo Perez will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 1370 S. Winter St (NewLife Church/Adrian Mall) from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm.
Mondo’s wishes were to be cremated and his remains to be buried with his mother Debbie Jean Perez at Oak Grove Cemetery, Morenci, Michigan.
Graveside services will take place on August 18, 2024 at 11:00 am at Oak Grove Cemetery, Morenci, Michigan.
