Morenci, MI – The Morenci Fire Department and local law enforcement are investigating two suspected arsons in Medina Township from over the weekend.

A post on the Morenci Fire Department social media page by Chief Brad Lonis said that the first fire was a large double hip roof barn and garage…and the second one was a two story residential home.

The barn and garage fire was at around 10pm Saturday on Morenci Road between Myerholtz and Munson Highway. The MFD reports that a house trailer on the property was saved. They cleared that scene at around 1am Sunday.

The second fire was called in at around 6:30am in the 15000 of Lime Creek Road. A small building was saved on the property. Both of these fires have been declared arson, and both properties were vacant.

If you have any information regarding these two fires, contact the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department or the Morenci Fire Department.
