
Monroe County, MI – A serious injury crash occurred Saturday evening in LaSalle Township of Monroe County. According to Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough, the incident happened on Laplaisance Road at Lighthouse Road at 9:12 pm.
Preliminary investigation shows that 51 year old James R. Miller of Monroe was operating a motorcycle traveling westbound on Laplaisance Road passing Lighthouse Road. For unknown reasons, the motorcycle began to leave the roadway to the north and struck a guardrail. Upon collision, Miller was ejected from his motorcycle and came to rest on a nearby embankment.
At the time of the crash, Miller was reportedly not wearing a helmet and alcohol is suspected to be a factor.
Miller received serious injuries and was transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
The incident remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division.
