Adrian, MI – A man charged with felonies in connection to the murder of Christopher Dickerson in 2019 has agreed to a plea deal with the Lenawee County Prosecutor’s Office.

Andrew Cecil pleaded guilty to two charges earlier this week, manslaughter and felony firearm. As a part of the deal, additional charges including Homicide-Open Murder and Gang Membership, will be dropped at sentencing.

Cecil was a co-defendant in a 2023 trial of Dickerson’s murder. The jury did not come to an agreement on guilt or innocence after a multi-day trial in Circuit Court…resulting in a mistrial. His co-defendant, Count Tereso the Almighty Trevino, was found guilty of four felonies in connection to the murder of Dickerson.

In the courtroom, Cecil agreed that he had contact with Austin Richardson Sr. while he was lodged at the Lenawee County Jail. He then agreed that while discussing Dickerson testifying at an upcoming trial, he was upset, and told Richardson to get the gun and kill Dickerson so he could not testify. He agreed that, as a result, Dickerson was shot and killed by either Richardson Sr. or a man named David Taylor.

With Cecil agreeing to the plea agreement, there will be no trial in the case. Circuit Court Judge Michael Olsaver set August 22nd as the date for sentencing.
