Billie Joe Morgan, age 76, of rural Hudson, died Friday evening, July 12, 2024, at Lynwood Manor in Adrian. Born July 18, 1947, in Isaban, WV, he was one of fourteen children of the late Alec and Elizabeth (Griffey) Morgan.

Billie lived his early life in West Virginia before moving with his family to Adrian at age 7. He married the love of his life, Diane Gritzmaker, on June 6, 1970, in Adrian. Together, they raised two sons and devoted over 54 years to each other making memories as husband and wife. He worked for nearly 20 years at the former Dura Corporation, and served as a former pastor at the Tecumseh Church of God for six years in the 1990’s.

Meticulous about his yard, Billie loved maintaining his property, and he was an avid vegetable gardener, providing ample yields each harvest. He had a fun sense of humor and loved telling stories of his early life in West Virginia. Having qualities of a wonderful grandfather, he cherished spending time with his beloved grandchildren, and he especially took pleasure in watching Lions football with his grandson Jacob. He favored the simple life, and found great contentment sitting in his rocking chair at home. His earthly presence will be sorely missed.

In addition to his wife, Diane, Billie is survived by their two sons, Donnie Morgan (Lisa Buehrle) of Morenci and Christian (Crystal) Morgan of Hudson; seven brothers and sisters, Delmas, Donald Gerald, Raymond, Alma, Alton and Roger; six grandchildren, Donnie Lee, Dakota, Darien, Alexandra, Jacob and Ty Morgan; and two great-grandchildren, Dakota Jr. and Elliana. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, Ralph, Curtis, Betty, Nora, Jackie and Marcella.

Billie will be laid to rest in a private graveside service for the family at Dover Center Cemetery.
