Onsted, MI – The Lenawee County Health Department (LCHD) has announced that the E. coli advisory for Hayes State Park beach has been lifted. The LCHD says that water samples collected on July 11th have shown bacteria levels below the State of Michigan’s safety threshold.

The latest results confirm that the water at Hayes State Park beach is now safe for swimming and recreational activities.

Routine beach monitoring will continue to ensure water quality remains within safe limits. Beachgoers are encouraged to always practice good habits and hygiene before, during, and after coming into contact with surface water.

The advisory was initially issued on July 10th following water samples collected on July 8th that indicated elevated E. coli levels. The precautionary measure was taken to protect public health while follow-up testing was conducted.
