Shirley Fritz, age 78, of Adrian, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Hospice of Lenawee. She was born February 5, 1946, in Cass City, MI to Victor and Iola (Laslo) Gonchoroff.
On December 5, 1970, Shirley married George Fritz and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2000. She made her career as a receptionist and communications clerk at Adrian Training School. She worked there from 1973 until the closure of the facility in 2009.
Shirley is survived by a son, Doug (Christina) Fritz of Adrian; two grandsons, Sebastian and Dakota (Claire); and three brothers, Victor (Toni) Gonchoroff of Faber, VA, Nick (Daryl) Gonchoroff of Florida, and Tom (Cathy) Gonchoroff of Milan, MI. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Timothy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian from 11:00 until the time of the service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the service. Cremains will be placed in the Columbarium at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
