
Thomas Michael Brennan, age 80, of Adrian, passed away January 10, 2024, in Ocala, FL Tom was a lifelong resident of Lenawee County. He was born December 27, 1943, in Hudson, MI, the second of five boys of John and Doris (Curtis) Brennan. Tom attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Hudson High School in 1962. He was a starter on the varsity football team for three years, receiving all-county honors. Tom attended Ferris State University and received an associate degree from Jackson Community College. Tom married the love of his life, Cynthia Kirsch, on May 18, 1991, at St. Joseph Shrine, in the Irish Hills. His career spanned all aspects of newspaper work – reporter, photographer, and salesman – at Adrian Telegram and Access Communications.
Tom enjoyed the simple things in life. He was proud of his Irish heritage, was a charter member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, St. Patrick Division, a devoted Notre Dame fan, and twice vacationed in Ireland. Tom was also an avid car racing fan, spending many weekends at Michigan International Speedway and various tracks on the circuit. He loved the state of Michigan, visiting most of the lighthouses along the Great Lakes and proudly stated he had made it to all 83 counties. Upon retirement, Tom and Cindy enjoyed spending the winters at their home in Summerfield, FL.
Left to cherish Tom’s memory is his wife, Cindy; brothers, Mike of Lady Lake, FL, and Lou (LuAnn) of Hillsdale, MI; sisters-in-law, Juliet Brennan of Napoleon, OH, Christine Brennan of Greenville, NC, Melissa Sissen of Adrian, MI, Nanette Staebell of Toledo, OH, and Andrea Clute of Battle Creek, MI; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Joe; in-laws, Richard and Mary Kirsch; brother-in-law, Bill Sissen; and most recently, nephew, Craig Brennan.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Campus, Adrian, on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will also take place at the church, one hour preceding the memorial service. Private burial will take place at St. Joseph Shrine Cemetery, Irish Hills.
