Kathleen “Kaye” Napier, age 82, of Temperance, died Wednesday morning, June 12, 2024, at the Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, Ohio, following an extended period of ailing health. She was born May 12, 1942, in Adrian, the younger of two children born to the late Bernard and Catherine (Steger) Iott.

Kaye lived her formative years in Deerfield, was raised Catholic, and graduated from Deerfield High School with the Class of 1960. She married classmate Ronald Eugene Napier a year later on October 28, 1961. Together they raised three children and enjoyed over 62 years of everlasting memories.

After earning licensure as an LPN shortly after high school, Kaye served as a nurse for a few years before she and Ron started their family. She then was blessed to stay home and devote her time to motherhood. After her children grew, she proudly joined her husband’s business operations, working alongside him at the former Hinkle’s Donuts in Toledo, until they sold the business in 1996.

Kaye is remembered as a caring and selfless person, who loved to socialize and could make friends anywhere she went. She was content with the simple pleasures life offered, and she was happy being at home cooking, mowing the yard, taking care of her flowers, or just being in the company of her beloved Havanese, Gidget. Her family, especially her grandson, provided her the most joy.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Ron, is a son, Greg Napier (Kim Lepiarz) of Toledo; two daughters, Sherry Hasbrouck and Debi Napier (Dan Letson) both of Lambertville; her brother, Don (Eleanor) Iott of Centerville, MI; and her grandson, Troy Hasbrouck.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the Anderson-Rudd Funeral Home, Blissfield, on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Deerfield Township Cemetery.
