Richard “Rick” Nolan Vaught of Adrian

Richard (Rick) Nolan Vaught, age 71, of Adrian, passed away on Saturday June 8, 2024, at Gaslight Village Assisted Living. He was born on December 15, 1952, in Highland, Illinois to the late Richard and Joyce (Miller) Vaught. He graduated from Spring Arbor University in 1974 with a degree in Social Sciences. He married his wife, Barbara Pasch, in April 1994. Rick worked at Adrian Training School for 34 years, retiring in April 2009, as a Youth Specialist. Upon retiring, he worked as a substitute for Lenawee County Schools.

Rick enjoyed his life with singing, participating with several community theater organizations, such as Lenawee Community Chorus, Tecumseh Chorus, Croswell Opera House, Toledo REP, Village Players, 3B Productions, Waterville Playshop, Oregon Community Theater, Sauk Theater, Ann Arbor, Saline, and Archbold Players. Rick was an avid traveler and enjoyed cruising with Barb to many Caribbean Islands. His life was deeply enriched with five exchange students from several countries. Rick earned a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo Karate and acted as an instructor. He served as a Precinct Delegate from Adrian Township and for several elections. He also raised many cats through the years.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Barb; stepdaughter, Wendie; sister-in-law, Karen Vaught; brothers-in-law, Bruce (Cindy) Pasch and Bill (Katie) Pasch; nieces and nephews: Sarah (Travis) Vaught, Amy (Jason) Eklund, Joel (Whitney) Pasch, Melissa (Jens) Hatch, and Meredyth (Johnnie) Moore; and five great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Renne and Randall.

Visitation for Rick will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mary Wood officiating. Burial of cremains will be held in Spring Arbor Cemetery, Spring Arbor, Michigan at a later date.
