Tecumseh, MI – The City of Tecumseh recently published an update on their website about the status of their Water Tower Restoration project. As of June 4th, all parts are on site and they will be installed over the next day or two. The final piece of the project is the reinstallation of the corrosion control system in the tank, as this was removed for the painting of the wet interior.

If their schedule holds, the City says that the plan is for that to be reinstalled on Thursday, June 6th. It will then take 3 to 4 days to disinfect the wet interior, fill the tower, collect and analyze the 1st bacteriological sample, collect and analyze a 2nd bacteriological sample, and if both samples pass, the city can place the tower back in service.

Tecumseh is still asking water customers to refrain from running their irrigation systems as a means to reduce demand on the system.
